About Charlie
Charlie Rowell's background
Rowell is a practicing attorney who earned his law degree from the University of Toledo and has a liberal arts degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
His knack for writing was recognized early. During his studies at Hope College, Rowell recalled, “I had a Creative Writing professor who told me, ‘Every now and then a real writer comes along.’ Then he said, ‘Write what you know.’ Knowing nothing, I decided to be a lawyer and learn something to write about and have the opportunity to practice writing.” Hence, he became an author.
For years Rowell wrote privately with no real aim for publication, but due to his sister’s faith in him and her decades of persistence, he is now taking his novels public. Rowell’s long, distinguished career as an attorney has given him an insider’s perspective and inspired many of his books’ characters and storylines.
